Two simple little words mean a lot to us don't they?
We enjoy hearing them when we give something, do something. We feel appreciated. When we don't hear it, we may feel a little disappointed, like the receiver did not appreciate what we took the time to do or give.
God feels the same way.
When He healed the 10 lepers, only 1 returned to give thanks. Jesus wasn't too happy when the other 9 didn't bother to come back with a hearty "thank you". He released them from a horrendous disease, and they didn't bother to say so much as "thanks".
He came to the world to save us from our sins and make us able to be with Him in Heaven. Do we give thanks?
There's a medieval legend that goes:
Two angels were sent to earth to collect the petitions and thanks givings for God. The two angels returned, and the angel responsible for collecting the petitions couldn't bring them all in one trip. The angel responsible for bringing all the "thanksgivings" returned with all of them...in one hand.
Today, and each day, take a moment to give thanks to the Lord. Lay aside wants and wishes and petitions, and simply give thanks to the One who created you and sustains you.
He will appreciate it!
