Burning Midnight Oil

It is nearing midnight here in Southeast Kansas, and the day is nearly over.  Since 9 pm I've done dishes, cleaned up from the evening meal, mopped the kitchen, dusted down the living room, cleaned essentials in the bathroom and mopped, watered plants, and if it wouldn't wake up the family I'd be vaccuuming and getting a few rooms out of the way.

The Proverbs 31 woman worked during the hours when she'd be burning oil in her lamp.  For us, during the time we'd have to have lights on to work.

It is in these hours of dark that I get the most accomplished.  There are no interruptions from the phone, no one is running through and sliding across a freshly mopped floor.  No one is doing the pee dance while I clean a toilet.  I can get a fresh, clean scent throughout the house while everyone sleeps.

It is nice to wake to a fresh, clean house!

What time of day do you do your best work?
